Individuals struggling with depression find that it negatively impacts all areas of their lives such as career and education, eating and sleeping, relationships, and overall physical health. Depression often occurs with anxiety, substance use disorders, and other addictions. Demetric helps people live their best lives by utilizing evidence-based therapies and counseling skills to overcome the challenges of depression.
Demetric is convinced core beliefs that support negative thoughts contribute to depression. His clinical approach provides support to individuals and allows them to take the lead without interrupting their process of self-discovery. His aim is to help individuals develop and achieve goals that lead to empowerment and a life of fulfillment. Though his approach to therapy gives him the option of treating a myriad of challenging issues, he specializes in helping individuals who struggle with depression alone or co-occurring with anxiety, other addictions, and substance use disorders.
He holds a master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling (LMHC) and a certification in Credentialed Alcohol and Substance Abuse Counseling (CASAC) to diagnose and treat substance use disorders. He is trained in motivational interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral and Rational Emotive Behavioral therapies. He has close to eight years experience as a chemical dependency and mental health counselor providing individual/group interventions to treat clients with co-occurring disorders.
Demetric accepts Aetna, Cigna, Excellus BC/BS, Oscar Health, Oxford, and United Healthcare.
